First responders were called at around 9 a.m. on Oct. 21 to a home on Budds Landing Road in Warwick, where they were met with smoke emanating from the roof of the home.
The homeowner, who was found in the garage, confirmed that there had been two explosions in the home and that they were able to safely evacuate while shutting off the gas supply to the residence.
Once inside, crews found a small fire in the basement of the home, though it was largely contained and did not spread to other areas of the house.
Firefighters were able to have the situation under control before 10:30 a.m. on Monday, and the New Castle County Structure Collapse Team and a local power company also provided assistance at the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the explosions are now under investigation by the Office of the Maryland Fire Marshal.
